While undergoing religious punishment in Amritsar, Punjab, senior Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal was shot, in which he narrowly escaped. Accusation number-1- Apology to Ram Rahim
Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insa, who is serving a sentence in two rape and murder cases, had tried to imitate Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. A case was registered against Ram Rahim in this matter. But the then Badal government had pardoned Ram Rahim.
The biggest allegation against Sukhbir Singh Badal and his cabinet is that of helping Baba Ram Rahim, who was accused of murder and rape and was accused of indecency with a Sikh. The allegation is that Badal, while in power, helped him get amnesty. Badal used his influence to withdraw the complaint against Ram Rahim. Whereas Ram Rahim is seriously accused of insulting Sikhs by dressing up like the tenth Guru of Sikhs Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and other activities.

Allegation No. 2- No action taken in case of sacrilege
Sukhbir Singh Badal is accused of not taking action even in the case of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. During the tenure of Badal government, on June 1, 2015, some people stole the beed of Guru Granth Sahib from Gurdwara Sahib in Faridkot and threw out some parts of it.
Allegation number-3- Political advertisements with Sangat’s money
It is alleged that Sukhbir Singh Badal allegedly got the political advertisement done with Sangat’s money and this advertisement was published after Ram Rahim was granted amnesty.
Accusation number-4- Justice was not provided to Sikhs
Not only this, charges were framed against Badal that he could not provide justice to the Sikhs killed in false cases. Because IPS officer Sumed Singh Saini was accused of killing innocent Sikh youth in the name of encounter. But the then Badal government had made him the Director General of Police i.e. DGP of Punjab.

Overall, the list of allegations of Sikhs against Sukhbir Badal is quite long and due to these allegations, Badal is currently facing punishment after apologizing from Akal Takht Sahib.

However, Sukhbir Singh Badal is not the only one to receive this punishment. Many other leaders who were in his cabinet like Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Sucha Singh Langah, Gulzar Singh, Daljit Singh Cheema, Balwinder Singh Bhundar and Hira Singh Gabaria have also been sentenced by Akal Takht Sahib and all these leaders are also busy serving the punishment.

Let us tell you that before this, many other big and famous people including former Union Home Minister Buta Singh, former President Giani Zail Singh and Santa Singh have been given similar religious punishment by Akal Takht. Prakash Singh Badal has also reached Harmandir Sahib in the year 2018 and provided the service of cleaning shoes and utensils.
