Both sides have actually finished production of a buffer zone of three kilometres in the 3 friction points of Galwan Valley, Gogra and Hot Springs.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday carried out a detailed review of the circumstance in eastern Ladakh with top military brass in view of the withdrawal of soldiers from the friction points by China’s Peoples Liberation Army, government sources stated.

The defence minister carried out the review at a conference with Chief of Defence Personnel Gen Bipin Rawat, Army Chief Gen MM Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria besides several other senior military officials.

Gen Naravane offered an in-depth account of the execution of the first stage of shared disengagement of troops from Galwan Valley, Gogra, Hot Springs and Finger 4 locations in Pangong Tso, the sources said.

They said the Army chief apprised Mr. Singh about battle readiness
