Flights were suspended or delayed across the Gulf region, including Bahrain, leading to temporary air closures. Repatriation efforts followed with multiple special flights scheduled to arrive in Mumbai on March 3 and 4.
Etihad Airways urged passengers not to travel to the airport unless there is any confirmation from the airport authorities. India has advised Indian nationals in UAE to remain vigilant and follow guidelines issues by local authorities amid escalating Middle east crisis.
Fresh explosions were reported in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Manama and Kuwait City. The UAE condemned the strikes as a “dangerous escalation,” shut its embassy in Tehran, withdrew its ambassador, and summoned Iran’s envoy with a formal protest, calling the attacks a violation of sovereignty and international law.
Limited flight operations resumed, with Emirates, Flydubai and Etihad operating special and evacuation flights, including services to India. Meanwhile, the US urged Americans to leave over a dozen West Asian countries.
