Explain that Dr. N. Purna Chandra Rao, chief scientist of the Department of Seismology of the National Geophysical Research Institute in Hyderabad, has warned that the state of India’s Uttarakhand region and part of western Nepal can cause a Turkey-like earthquake at any time. . There was an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude in Turkey, due to which more than 45000 people have died. According to Dr. Rao, especially the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand, which is adjacent to western Nepal, it comes in the category of Seismic Zone 4 and there has never been a major earthquake, but due to the changes happening inside the ground, such an earthquake is sure to happen. Its date or time limit cannot be told.
According to him, the entire Himalayan region from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh comes under category 4 and 5, which are earthquake-prone areas. An earthquake of magnitude 8 on the Richter scale was last seen in Kangra in Himachal Pradesh in the 50s and one such earthquake occurred on the Bihar-Nepal border in the 90s, but after that the entire region has been affected in recent years.
