After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the election of the chairperson is to be held in the Congress. For this, a meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party will be held on Saturday evening. For this, a meeting has been called at 5:30 pm in the Central Hall of Parliament House. All MPs have been asked to be present in it. In this meeting, the party MPs will take a decision to elect the chairperson. Regarding this, party general secretary KC Venugopal has issued a letter to all the MPs asking them to be present.

According to Congress sources, many winning Congress MPs have discussed among themselves and decided that after electing Sonia as the leader in the parliamentary party meeting, a strong demand will be made by raising hands to make Rahul the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha.

In the Congress constitution, this right is with the leader of the parliamentary party (Lok Sabha + Rajya Sabha MPs). That is, Sonia Gandhi can take a decision immediately if she wants or she can keep her decision in reserve. Sonia Gandhi is currently also the chairperson of the party and there is a strong possibility of her being elected once again. It is believed that there are less chances of Sonia Gandhi taking a decision on making Rahul the opposition leader in the Lok Sabha on Saturday. It is possible that the party may announce it by issuing a press release later.

In the Congress Working Group meeting, credit and congratulations will be given to party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi for the good performance of the party and the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
