On November 26, a drunken male passenger urinated on a female passenger (a senior citizen) sitting in business class on a flight coming from New York to Delhi.

The National Commission for Women has also taken this matter into cognizance. Commission’s chairperson Rekha Sharma has written a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner, instructing him to immediately register a case in the matter under the provisions of the relevant law and take strict action against those guilty of causing mental trauma to an elderly woman.

The woman narrated the incident in the complaint letter
The woman passenger wrote in her complaint, “I am writing to express my deep dismay regarding the horrific incident that took place during my business class journey on flight AI102. This has been the most painful flight I have ever been on. During the flight, shortly after lunch, the lights were turned off. When I was getting ready to sleep, a drunken passenger came to her seat and urinated.
Other passengers tried to dissuade him, but he did not agree. He described the AI cabin crew as insensitive towards the incident. He said the crew only gave him a pair of pajamas and slippers to change into, but no action was taken against the male passenger for the act.
