Frequent Congress minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu has been arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in relation to a scam in grain markets. Sources confirmed that he, collectively with his subordinates, allegedly executed a transport scam. Charges against the used minister alleged irregularities in issuing gentle bids for grain lifting in Ludhiana.

Allegations narrate that Bhushan, his deepest assistant and transporters, had executed a scam by list scooters, low commercial autos and autos as autos to mutter transport subsidies. Experiences suggest that irregularities summed as much as the tune of Rs 2000 crore.

While Bhushan has pleaded for his innocence and requested authorities not to name him in a ‘deceptive’ case, costs below sections 420 (cheating), 409 (prison breach of belief), 467 (forgery of treasured security), 468 (forgery for the cause of cheating), 471 (the usage of cast documents as exact), 120B (prison conspiracy).

Bhushan used to be the MLA from Ludhiana West in 2012 and 2017 and the minister for food affords below the used Congress Cabinet in Punjab below used chief ministers Captain Amarinder Singh and Charanjit Singh Channi. He misplaced his seat within the 2022 Punjab Assembly polls.
