Lucknow News: Police has made a big revelation in the case of locker theft in Indian Overseas Bank located in Matiyari, Chinhat. The gang that carried out the theft had conducted recce of the bank and surrounding areas for four days before the incident. The gang had used the vacant plot to enter the bank by breaking into the wall. Also, the miscreants were wearing masks and helmets to hide their identity.
According to Lucknow Police sources, the criminals who committed the robbery had made their plan after watching the CCTV footage inside and outside the bank. After the incident, he had talked on phone not once or twice but three times, which made it easier for the police to trace his location. Then based on the input the police reached them.
Arvind Kumar, an accused who was injured in the police encounter, was continuously talking to someone on the phone while breaking the bank locker. He was captured in the CCTV installed inside the bank. At the same time, the crook standing outside the bank was also talking on the phone. After which the police collected data of all the mobile numbers active at that time. Then their investigation revealed that the gang involved in the bank robbery was from Bihar. Many important information came to light when the mobile numbers associated with them were put on surveillance.

Police said that during the theft the lockers were cut for about three and a half hours. The arrested accused told that they had come from Munger in Bihar and were staying in Lucknow since December 17. At the same time, bank officials said that there was no security lapse on the part of the bank in the case of theft by breaking the locker. The entire arrangement was as per the rules of RBI. The locker has a double lock, one key of which is with the bank and the other with the customer. The miscreants broke it and took away cash, jewelery etc.
If police sources are to be believed, the conspiracy to steal crores of rupees from the Indian Overseas Bank located in Chinhat, Lucknow was hatched in Jalandhar Jail of Punjab a year ago. The mastermind of the robbery, Kailash, and the conspirator, Vipin, were lodged together in Jalandhar jail, where they had planned this incident.
It is worth noting that in this incident, the CCTV footage found of miscreants talking on mobile phones inside and outside the bank made the way for the police easier. The police just had to get the data of the active mobile numbers there and as soon as they got this data, the police got their mobile numbers. These numbers remained active even after the incident, which made it easier to trace the location of the miscreants. In this way the entire incident was revealed within 24 to 30 hours.
