A candle march was taken out in Indore last evening to demand justice in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case in Meghalaya. Raja’s elder brother Sachin Raghuvanshi questioned the action of the Meghalaya police and said that if his daughter -in -law Sonam Raghuvanshi had disappeared, his entire family would have been in jail. While there is no questioning of the family of the king who murdered the king. He has warned of strict action against the accused and agitation over not taking concrete steps within a week.
In Sahakar Nagar, Indore, the family and supporters of Raja Raghuvanshi took out a candle march and demanded punishment for those responsible for their murder.
Sachin Raghuvanshi said emotionally, “24 days have passed for the murder of my brother, but till date the police did not succeed in catching the killers. If my daughter -in -law Sonam had disappeared, our entire family would have been put in jail. But no concrete action is being taken after the murder of a boy. ”

29 -year -old King Raghuvanshi and his 24 -year -old wife Sonam were married in Indore on 11 May. The two reached Sohra (Cherrapunji) in Meghalaya on 20 May for honeymoon. The two went missing on 23 May and the body of the king was found in a ditch near Weisadong Falls on 2 June.
Meghalaya Police started an investigation under ‘Operation Honeymoon’ and on 9 June Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur. The police have arrested Sonam’s alleged lover Raj Kushwaha and three others Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the police investigation, Sachin said that in the initial stages, the family got misinformation due to the negligence of the Meghalaya Police. He said, “We want justice. If the police did not take action soon, we will force the agitation. ”The family had earlier demanded a CBI inquiry, but now they are demanding hearing in the fast-track court and strict punishment for the culprits.
