India-China border soldiers clash at Galwan Valley: Bottom line

NEW DELHI: A violent physical clash in between India-China border troops on June 15 in Galwan Valley led to the death of a minimum of 20 Indian soldiers and left numerous others fighting for life. While there are no validated number of deaths on the Chinese side, the External Affairs Ministry stated both sides suffered casualties. Following the clash, the Chinese soldiers supposedly disengaged from the Galwan location.

PM calls for an all-party meet

In order to go over the scenario in the India-China border areas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has actually required an all-party meeting at 5 pm on June19 Presidents of various political parties would participate in this virtual meeting.

Zhao Lijian, Chinese foreign ministry representative stated on Wednesday that the sovereignty of the Galwan valley area “has always belonged to China” and that the Indian border soldiers “flip-flopped and seriously broke” China’s border procedures along with the agreement of commander level talks. Lijian said that China is asking India “to strictly discipline its frontline troops” and “provocative activity at once” in order to “deal with China and come back to the ideal track of fixing the differences through dialogue & talk.” The Chinese spokesperson said that the two countries were interacting through diplomatic and military channels.

” The right and incorrect of this is very clear … The event taken place on the Chinese side of LAC and China is not to blame for it. From the Chinese side, we do not want to see more clashes,” said Lijian.
