India sent 32 tons of relief goods to storm-affected Myanmar, aid has also been sent to Laos and Vietnam.

India on Tuesday sent 32 tonnes of relief material to Myanmar in a military transport aircraft. This relief material was sent under Operation ‘Sadbhav’ which was started two days ago to help the South-East Asian countries affected by the storm.

India on Tuesday sent 32 tonnes of relief material to Myanmar in a military transport aircraft. This relief material was sent under Operation ‘Sadbhav’, which was started two days ago to help the South-East Asian countries affected by the storm. Due to Cyclone Yagi, various parts of Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam are in the grip of severe floods. It is being described as Asia’s most powerful storm this year. India has already sent relief material to Vietnam and Laos.

India had sent 10 tons of aid from a naval ship.
India had sent 10 tonnes of aid including ration, clothes and medicines to Myanmar on Sunday through the naval ship INS Satpura. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on social media platform ‘X’, ‘Operation ‘Sadbhav’ continues, India has sent the second consignment of aid to Myanmar.’

He said that the Air Force plane is carrying 32 tonnes of relief material including hygiene kits and medicines for the people of Myanmar. Jaiswal said that the Indian Navy is carrying additional 10 tonnes of ration for Myanmar.

Operation ‘Sadbhav’ is part of India’s broader effort to contribute to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) in the ASEAN (Association of South-East Asian Nations) region. Apart from this, India today sent 1000 metric tonnes of rice to Namibia to help it deal with the recent drought.
