BRAND-NEW DELHI: The 2 remaining India-South Africa ODIs in Lucknow and Kolkata were on Friday aborted owing to the COVID-19 risk after the visiting gamers “revealed objection” to continue in view of the rising positive cases in the host country.
This is only the 2nd time in 3 decades that a global cricket series in India has been aborted midway, the last remaining in 2014 by the West Indies group over a pay dispute with its Board.

” With the IPL being postponed, it only made good sense that at this moment of time, this series is also called off. The nation is dealing with a serious pandemic,” a top BCCI official told PTI.
