India’s first reusable hybrid rocket RHUMI-1 launched

India’s first reusable hybrid rocket RHUMI-1 has been successfully launched. It has been launched by Tamil Nadu’s start-up company Space Zone India and Martin Group. Three cube satellites and 50 PICO satellites have been launched in this rocket. The launch has been done from a mobile launcher.

The country’s first reusable hybrid rocket RHUMI-1 has been successfully launched. The launch was done today i.e. on the morning of 24th August from the coast of Chennai. A mobile launcher has been used for the launch. This means that this rocket can be launched from anywhere. This rocket has been built jointly by Space Zone India and Martin Group.

3 cube satellites and 50 PICO satellites have been launched in this rocket. Which have been released in a sub-orbital trajectory. These satellites will study global warming and climate change and send data. Rumi-1 rocket is equipped with a generic-fuel based hybrid motor and electrically triggered parachute deployer.

That is, after releasing the satellite, the rocket will come back down with the help of a parachute. Pyrotechnics have not been used in this. The RHUMI rocket mission has been completed by Anand Megalingam. Anand is the founder of Space Zone Company. He has taken guidance from Dr. M. Annadurai, former director of ISRO Satellite Center, for making this rocket and the entire mission.

Rumi-1 rocket has a liquid and solid fuel propellant system. So that operational costs are reduced and capacity is increased. Space Zone India is an aero-technology company. It wants to provide the right technology and facilities to the space industry at a low cost. The RHUMI-1 rocket weighs a total of 80 kg. 70 percent of its parts can be reused.
