‘Palace on Wheels’ will start its maiden journey of this tourism season from New Delhi today (Wednesday), 25th September evening. In the last three months, mechanical and design related work has been done to improve the look and feel of the train.
In the first trip of the train, 30 foreign guests will go on a royal journey. In this, the cheapest package of one room (cabin) is Rs 12 lakh and the most expensive is Rs 39 lakh.
The specialty of this luxury train is that through it one can visit eight cities of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in just seven days. In which Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra are covered.
The coaches of this train are no less than the luxury rooms of a hotel. The rooms in the train have all the facilities which are available in a hotel room. It has arrangements ranging from simple to deluxe rooms. In which all the facilities including TV, internet will be available.
Apart from luxury rooms, the train also has spa, salon and gym facilities. Apart from this, restaurants and bars are also in this train. Apart from Indian food, a range of Rajasthani, Mughlai, Chinese, Thai and Mexican food is available in the two restaurants built in the train.
Pradeep Bohra, Director (O&M) of ‘Palace on Wheels’ said that special guests will be present on the occasion of flag off program of the train. According to Bhagat Singh Lohagarh, Director General of O&M, the private company that operates the train, 30 foreign guests will go on a royal journey in the first trip of the train.
