According to the Labor Ministry, the facility to withdraw money from PF account directly through UPI and ATM will be started before March 2026. Its preparations are going on rapidly. Therefore, PF account holders are now going to get the facility in one click. Now let us know how this will be possible?
How to withdraw PF money from ATM?
First of all, it is important to understand that at present there is no option available to link PF account with UPI. When EPFO starts this facility, then online process will be given for it. It is estimated that this facility will be available on both EPFO member portal and UMANG app.
To link PF account with UPI, the most important condition will be activation of UAN (Universal Account Number). Along with this, it will be mandatory to link the member’s Aadhaar, bank account and PAN with UAN. The mobile number should also be linked to Aadhaar and bank account, as the entire process will be based on OTP based verification.
Although EPFO has not yet issued any guidelines regarding the process, it is expected that the member will have to log in to the EPFO portal or UMANG app. It is possible that a new option will appear there, for example ‘Link PF with UPI’ or ‘PF Withdrawal via UPI’. After clicking on this option the member will have to enter his UPI ID. After this, a notification will come on the respective UPI app such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or BHIM, from where permission has to be given to link the PF account.
After completion of verification, the PF account will be successfully linked to UPI. After that the amount will be transferred directly from the ATM through UPI. However, EPFO has not yet confirmed this process.
PF amount will be withdrawn in a jiffy
The government says that PF-UPI linking is going to provide great relief to the people, with this the PF amount will be easily withdrawn and the process will become completely digital and transparent. For this the EPFO member will have to complete and update his KYC.
The Union Minister said that even under the existing rules, members can withdraw 75% of their EPF amount immediately. The remaining 25 percent amount was left in the PF so that the employees can continue their jobs and they can get the benefit of interest on PF.
