Mumbai Weather Latest Updates: It rained so much in Mumbai from yesterday (25th September) evening till late night that the pace of Mayanagari came to a halt. Everything had come to a standstill, low lying areas were submerged. The Meteorological Department had issued a red alert till 8:30 am today, which has been extended till 1 pm. This means that clouds of crisis are currently looming over Mumbai.

The financial capital of the country was once again in ruins. The metropolis which collects the highest tax was once again drowned in three hours of rain. Mumbai remained a sea throughout the night, roads were submerged and vehicles started floating, societies were filled to the brim. Those going home at night had to walk drowning. After all, why has it become Mumbai’s destiny to drown in even a little rain? Red alert will remain in place till noon and schools and colleges are closed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pune also had to be cancelled.

Rain took the lives of 5 people in Maharashtra

The returning monsoon rains in Maharashtra have taken the lives of 5 people. Five people, including two women, have lost their lives in incidents of rain and lightning in Maharashtra. In this, 3 people have died due to lightning in Kalyan. One woman has died due to drowning in a waterfall in Raigad and another woman has died due to falling in a manhole in Mumbai. The remaining people died due to lightning.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall was recorded in Mumbai, Pune and Thane in the last 24 hours. Local flood like situation arose at some places mostly during the afternoon or evening. Latest data indicates possibility of light to moderate rain in these areas during the next 2-3 hours.

Railway-road traffic situation

According to the latest update, all local trains are running normally. Due to rescheduled movement of Mail Express and some precautions, there is a delay of 3-4 minutes from the scheduled time on the main line. Apart from this everything else is normal. There is no waterlogging on the roads now. Due to which traffic is running normally.

Red alert for rain today

The Meteorological Department had issued a red alert for Mumbai till 8.30 am today but now it has been extended till 1 am, that is, the possibility of rain remains even today. Along with this, there has also been a decline in the temperature of Mumbai. Today the maximum temperature of Mumbai can be 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be 23 degrees Celsius. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a red alert for Mumbai and its surrounding districts of Thane, Palghar and Raigarh.

Rail and vehicle traffic has been restored on Thursday after heavy rains in Mumbai. Due to heavy rain yesterday, low-lying areas were flooded, local trains were halted at various places and at least 14 incoming flights had to be diverted. But now the situation is normal. However, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Mumbai even today but the situation will not be the same as tomorrow.

Woman dies after falling into manhole

During heavy rains, a woman fell into a manhole in Andheri. The flow of water was so strong that the woman was swept away for about a hundred meters into the manhole. The search operation went on for about an hour but his life could not be saved and again due to rain in the city, the war campaign died down.
