In Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, two Naxalites including a woman have been killed in an encounter with security personnel on Saturday. The bodies of two Naxalites, including a woman wearing a uniform, have been recovered from the encounter site. After this encounter, a search operation by security forces in the area is still going on.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that 67 hardcore Naxalites have been killed in the last 60 days in the state’s Bastar range. He has described this achievement as evidence of the courage and commitment of the security personnel. He said that he salutes the indomitable courage of the security forces.
He said, “Ever since the double engine government has come in Chhattisgarh, the fight to end Naxalism has intensified. More than 300 Naxalites have been killed in the last 13 months. With this, more than 985 have surrendered and 1,177 have been arrested.

The Chief Minister further said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have resolved that Naxalism will be completely abolished by 31 March 2026. Our government is moving very fast towards fulfilling this resolution.”
Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan said that an encounter started in the forest of Gundrajgudem village under Kistaram police station area at around 9 am when a joint team of security personnel had gone on an anti -Naxal campaign. There was reported of the presence of Maoists.
Based on this, the campaign launched on Friday was involved in the District Reserve Guard and CRPF’s special unit Cobra (Commando Battalion for Resolut Action). During this time there was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites, in which two Maoists were killed.
He said that blood stains found on the spot say that many other Naxalites have been killed or injured in the encounter. The search operation by security forces in the area is still going on. So far this year, 83 Naxalites have been killed in different encounters with security forces in the state.
