A ‘serial rapist’, who has become synonymous with fear in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the kidnapping and rape of a seven -year -old girl. The name of the criminal is 32-year-old Avinash Pandey aka ‘Simple’, who used to make 4-7 year old girls his victim. Many cases have been registered against him. In this case, a fine of Rs 1.6 lakh has also been imposed on him.
Special Additional Sessions Judge (Poxo) Deep Kant Mani gave this historic verdict on Wednesday. Earlier, the court convicted Avinash Pandey under the relevant sections of the Code of Justice of India (BNS) and the Poxo Act. In this case, a complaint was lodged against the accused in July this year, after which the hearing was going on in the court.
Special District Government Advocate (Poxo) Sant Pratap Singh said that Avinash Pandey is a ‘serial rapist’. He used to target innocent girls aged 4 to 7 years. His method was extremely cruel and planned. He used to hunt between 3 and 4 am in the scorching heat. Used to kidnap the girls sleeping outside their homes. He used to take them to the forest by bicycle.
There he shows him pornographic videos on his mobile phone. Used to beat him. Many times he would try to convince them by giving toffee, toys and clothes. After this, he raped him. His handiwork first came to light when complaints started receiving continuous complaints in Sujuli area of Bahraich from 25 June. The police were told about the girls who were disappearing from the area.

After registering a case in this case, the police immediately started investigation. The accused was identified on the basis of the statements of the victim girls. Police investigation revealed that the accused was addicted to alcohol. He had a tattoo on his hand, which played an important role in his identity. A case was filed against him in four separate cases. He was taken into custody on 6 July.
During the police investigation, objectionable pictures were recovered from his mobile phone. Apart from this, the victim’s clothes, her bicycle, two mobile phones and other important evidence were also found. He deliberately targeted such girls who are unable to make their own statement. But the vigilance of the people, the statements of the victims and the activism of the police brought him behind bars.
