The upgraded International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, on Friday, exposed that marine mammal Dugongs are dealing with termination in East Africa and New Caledonia.

By India Today Web Desk: Marine mammal Dugongs are dealing with termination, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List that was launched on Friday. The big herbivorous marine mammals, normally referred to as sea cow, are now threatened with termination.
The IUCN watchlist exposed that the population of Dugongs in East Africa and New Caledonia has actually gone into the Red List as “seriously threatened” and “threatened” respectively.
The mammal is “susceptible” worldwide. The main risks to this types are poaching in New Caledonia and unintended capture in fishing equipment in East Africa. They suffer boat injuries in both places.

Dugongs consume seagrass in shallow seaside waters. Numerous elements like production, nonrenewable fuel source expedition, contamination and unapproved advancement are deteriorating their seagrass food source in East Africa, while seagrass is being harmed by farming run-off and contamination from nickel mining in New Caledonia.
According to the IUCN Director General, Bruno Oberle, “Today’s IUCN Red List upgrade exposes a best storm of unsustainable human activity annihilating marine life around the world.”
