Bench looks for replies from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh; hearing adjourned for two weeks.
Anti-Citizenship (Modification) Act (CAA) activist Sharjeel Imam on Tuesday stopped working to get any immediate relief from the Supreme Court regardless of arguing that a number of First Details Reports (FIRs) signed up against him in various States were politically coloured and a ruse to silence his right to dissent.
Appearing prior to a three-judge Bench led by Justice Ashok Bhushan, senior supporter Siddharth Dave, for Mr. Imam, advised the court to club the cases against his customer and transfer them to Delhi.
Mr. Dave sought parity for Mr. Imam, who is lodged in a Guwahati jail.
