No riots took place post Feb 25 in Delhi, says Amit Shah in Lok Sabha: Highlights

NEW DELHI: Union home minister AmitShah on Wednesday expressed sorrow over the Delhi riots on Wednesday, while defending the Delhi Police‘s role in containing the violence. Replying to the discussion in Lok Sabha, the Union home minister defended the Police, saying they contained the rioting within 36 hours.

I would like to place on record that after February 25 no incident of rioting took place in northeast Delhi. There have been attempts to politicise these riots.

Questions have been asked about what the Delhi Police was doing. Police were on the ground then, they will also probe and submit a report in coming days.
