NEW DELHI: That worldwide cricketers are some of the most popular people worldwide is obvious. It’s not a surprise then countless individuals across the world wish to replicate them. Then some take that fascination to another level. And if their facial characteristics match those of a cricketer, it only contributes to that obsession.
Indian cricketers and their doppelgangers have made headlines for many years. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Virat Kohli have fans who look a lot like them and who groom and design themselves to look and act more like their more famous look-alikes.
Now, meet Shikhar Dhawan‘s doppelganger. 27- year-old Ram Bahadur.
In an exclusive interview with Timesofindia.com, the 27- year-old Ram Bahadur, who comes from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh and works as a computer operator in Lucknow, spoke about his mad fixation with Shikhar Dhawan, intriguing anecdotes thanks to his looks and fulfilling the Indian left-hander and his household. Interestingly, it wasn’t he who realised that he looked a lot like Dhawan, however somebody else.
The story behind the resemblance
This took place in 2013 when Ram Bahadur went to a neighboring beauty parlor.
” After giving me a haircut, the barber said ‘bhaia, aap to bilkul Shikhar Dhawan ki tarah lagte ho (Bro, you look like Shikhar Dhawan). He revealed me Shikhar sir’s image. I purchased a poster of Shikhar sir and glued it to my wall.
” Since then, I have actually only gone to that same beauty parlor. I don’t go to any other barber shop. I go to the salon a minimum of
