JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria: Taking a major step, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed the eligibility criteria of JEE Main 2023. NTA has issued a notice informing that students who are among the top 20% toppers of their respective boards will also be eligible to take admission in IITs, NITs, JFTIs after passing engineering entrance exams. As per the previous criteria, students were required to score at least 75% marks in class 12th.
Please tell that there is no change in the already existing rule of 75% board exam marks for JEE Mains based admission. NTA has announced this additional criteria which will make the students eligible for admission in IIITs, NITs and other GFTIs. NTA said that this new rule has been added after getting suggestions from the stakeholders.
As per the released notice, ‘The National Testing Agency has received several representations from the stakeholders regarding changing the criteria of 75% marks in class 12th examination… for the candidates who want to get admission in NITs, IITs and other such GFTIs. They must have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th examination or should be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by the concerned board.
