Controversy is going on in Pakistan regarding the safety of Chinese citizens. Meanwhile, the government of Pakistan has taken a big decision. Shahbaz government has deployed more than 1500 policemen of Special Security Unit to provide security to Chinese citizens in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chinese citizens are working on different projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to officials, apart from the Special Security Unit, police personnel from District Police, Elite Force and Frontier Reserve Police have also been deployed in large numbers to protect Chinese citizens and their projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan has confirmed this at a function at the China Window in Peshawar. Hayat Khan said that he has visited some of these projects to inspect the security after taking charge as IG.

The news agency quoted Akhtar as saying, “Adequate security has been provided to Chinese projects in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 1500 policemen of SSU are providing security to them along with other policemen of District Police, Elite Force and FRP. “
Akhtar Hayat Khan said that security will be provided to all those who play an important role in the development of the province and Pakistan. The DGP said that a special security unit has been formed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for the security of foreigners and this unit has been upgraded recently.
495 terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last year
The police chief said that there were 495 terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last year. He informed that the Anti-Terrorism Department has been reformed and made operational in the former tribal districts to eliminate the menace of terrorism and restore peace.
Home Minister Rana Sanaullah had visited Gwadar
Earlier in February, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had promised to provide complete security for Chinese citizens in Gwadar. Reviewing the security arrangements, Sanaullah said, “Strong security will be provided to all local and foreign nationals.”
Rana Sanaullah visited Gwadar and reviewed the security arrangements for Chinese citizens. He was briefed about the law and order situation in Gwadar and Mekran. As reported by the Balochistan Post, Sanaullah said that one per cent of all CPEC projects are allocated for security purposes.
After a blast in a mosque in Peshawar’s police line, Pakistan instructed Chinese nationals to hire private firms for security. The Home Department of Punjab directed Chinese nationals living in the state or working with private companies to hire private A-class security companies for their security.
