Union Railways and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has actually apparently asked contractors to cut costs and clear unsold inventory by “offering at any cost they get now, as things were not going to enhance in a rush”.
Mr. Goyal was speaking at a closed-door online meeting organised by contractors’ body National Real Estate Advancement Council (NAREDCO). The Minister is seen saying that contrary to expectations, the federal government was not going to provide a monetary helpline that would allow home builders to hold their inventory and then sell at greater rates, when the market enhanced.
