Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Vadodara, Gujarat on Monday. C-295 transport aircraft will be built in this complex. An agreement has been signed between Spain and India to make 56 aircraft. On this occasion, PM Modi remembered the late Ratan Tata, former chairman of Tata Sons. He said that if he had been with us today, he would have been very happy.
‘Wherever Ratan Tata is, he will be happy…’
Remembering Ratan Tata while inaugurating the Tata Aircraft Complex, PM Modi said, ‘Recently we lost the great son of the country, Ratan Tata. If he were among us today, he would be very happy, but wherever his soul is, he would definitely be happy. Addressing on this occasion, the Prime Minister further said that this C-295 aircraft factory reflects the new work culture of the new India.

The Prime Minister further said in his address that when I was the CM of Gujarat, it was decided to set up a factory to make train coaches in Vadodara. The factory was also made ready for production in record time and today we are exporting the metro coaches made in that factory to other countries. Expressing confidence, PM Modi said that I have full confidence that in future the aircraft made in this factory (TATA Aircraft Complex) will also be exported to other countries.

Agreement signed for 56 aircraft
An agreement has been signed between Spain and India to make 56 aircraft. The first 16 aircraft will be built in Spain. While the remaining 40 aircraft will be manufactured by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). For the first time in the country, a private company will manufacture planes for the military. Let us tell you here that Tata Aircraft Complex is the country’s first private military assembly line, which will make military aircraft. Transport aircraft are very important for the Indian Air Force. So that soldiers, weapons, fuel and hardware can be transported from one place to another. In this, C295 will help in transportation of less weight.
