Minister K. Sudhakar said that according to the new variant strain BF.7 ‘R’ value of corona virus, it is capable of spreading from one person to 17-18 people. Therefore it is highly contagious. Along with this, the Union Health Ministry has also asked the states to increase testing and lay emphasis on screening.

According to a report of an American organization, about one million people may die from Kovid-19 in China alone next year. Regarding this, Minister Sudhakar said that China’s vaccination process, the level of vigilance of the people, the population of the elderly and their health problems could be the reason for this.

COVID-19 which started 2 years ago is still not completely over. Therefore, people have been appealed to be more alert and get booster dose done as soon as possible. At the same time, a meeting was held under the leadership of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. In this, instructions were given to compulsorily send positive cases for genomic sequencing to track the new variant. Along with this, senior citizens will be given booster dose on priority basis.
