The Association of Personal Airport Operators (APAO) on Friday approached the government with a demand to enable levying of a nominal guest facilitation charge as part of airline fares to cover increased operating costs being sustained by the operators in wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and fall in passenger volumes.
In a letter to the civil air travel secretary on Friday, APAO likewise looked for provisioning of an airport operator alleviation package by Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) to help with the growing operational expenditures, released in the next control period of suitable airport operators.
