Rampur: BJP MLA called 25 times, the officer neither picked up nor called back

In Rampur, UP, even though crores of rupees are being spent from the government treasury in the name of Shishu Sadan for orphan and abandoned children and schemes like Child Helpline are being run, but despite this, the negligence of the officers and employees towards the innocent children has come to the fore. It is alleged that the officers do not come to Shishu Sadan for weeks, and mark the attendance of ten days in the attendance register in a single day. Not only this, the government employees deployed to take care of the innocent children of Shishu Sadan are busy serving at the officers’ houses. No one even attends the phone on the Child Helpline.

All these things were revealed in Rampur when an innocent one year old child was found abandoned near the Ashram Paddhati Vidyalaya on a deserted road outside the city. The child was suffering from fever and was unable to speak anything. When the Kotwali Civil Line Police was informed, someone informed the city MLA Akash Saxena about this.

The MLA took immediate action and got the child treated at the district hospital. When the child recovered, he thought of handing him over to the Shishu Sadan. The city MLA made dozens of calls to the child helpline and the district probation officer and the Civil Lines police but no one listened. Then the city MLA himself reached the Shishu Sadan and the scene there was even more pathetic.

The officer was not present there. Looking at the attendance register, it was revealed that the officer does not come there for weeks, he marks attendance for 10-10 days at a stretch. Not only this, the government employees employed to take care of orphan children at Shishu Sadan also perform their duty at the officer’s residence.

On this issue, BJP’s city MLA Akash Saxena said that we came to know that a child (aged one year) was found on the road on Moradabad Road near Ashram Paddhati School on Civil Lines at around 11:00 am. As soon as we got the information, we went to Civil Lines police station and saw there that the child was unable to speak and had fever. Then from there we took him to the hospital and then when we saw in the hospital that the child was fine, we went to Shishu Sadan to see what kind of arrangements are there.

BJP MLA’s allegation

According to Akash Saxena- It is the responsibility of the incharge of Shishu Sadan to treat any child found in such a condition. There was no person on the child helpline either. After that we called the DPO but he did not pick up the phone. We and Civil Line police station made 20 to 25 calls to him continuously but could not find any trace of him.

Then when I came to Shishu Sadan and saw, I found flaws in the attendance register. Many staff members are working at the DPO’s house. 10 days of attendance has been entered in the attendance register in a single day using the same pen. I have written everything and given it to the superintendent here. Now I want that administrative action should be taken against the officers who are guilty in this case.

He also said that he will talk to the District Magistrate Rampur and Moradabad Commissioner regarding this. However, the matter was brought to their notice. Because, our mission is that if even a single child has any problem, then it should be resolved.
