The Integrated Illness Surveillance Program (IDSP), the backbone of India’s disease monitoring network, is accountable for alerting the Centre and the broader world, on a weekly basis, about the introduction of illness break outs, a rise in novel pathogens, the rate of spread and remedial action taken.
