Russia and Ukraine have started the process of exchange of prisoners after peace talks in Türkiye. Moscow said that the first phase will be of the exchange of youth, which will include soldiers below 25 years of age. In a conversation in Istanbul last Monday, both sides agreed to release the injured soldiers and prisoners under 25 years of age.
Under the agreement, both sides will release more than 1,000 soldiers. Also, both have promised to exchange bodies of 6,000-6,000 dead soldiers. The Russian Defense Ministry said on Telegram on Monday, “According to Russian-Ukrainian agreements, the first party under the age of 25 has been returned from the area controlled by Kiev.”

How many soldiers will exchange is not clear yet!

Medical test of prisoners being done in Belarus
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the mental health and medical test of the returned soldiers is being done in Belarus, after which they will be sent home. Jailonsky described this process as “quite complex, sensitive and many aspects” and said that the talks continue almost every day. According to the information, Kremlin committed to fulfill the agreements on Monday, while Ukraine accused him of not fulfilling his responsibilities.

Ukraine accused Russia of ‘dirty game’
The Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday accused Kiev of not fixing the date of exchange of warfare. In response, Ukraine accused Russia of playing “dirty games” and violating the rules of consent. Medinski also said that Ukraine did not make any arrangements to take the bodies of his dead soldiers. Ukrainian officials confirmed that no date has been set and the list given by Russia does not match the rules of the agreement.
