Bangladesh Police said on Sunday that there is no clear information yet about the whereabouts of the main suspect in the murder of Sharif Usman Hadi. The statement came a day after Hadi’s Inquilab Manch party gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the interim government on Saturday, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible for his killing.

Addressing an emergency press conference at the Home Ministry, Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khondkar Rafiqul Islam said agencies are actively trying to trace Faisal Karim Masood, identified as the gunman. We still have no information about Faisal’s whereabouts. Our forces and intelligence agencies are working on this.

However, we are investigating this matter from all angles.
