The Supreme Court on Friday declined to stay the foundation for the Central Vista project even as the Centre stated there was no overreaching of the court process in the pursuit of the20,000- crore redevelopment strategy of the nation’s power corridor clearances.
Appearing prior to a Bench led by Justice A.M. Khanwilkar, supporter Shikhil Suri, for petitioner Rajiv Suri, stated the federal government was “churning out approvals” for the project regardless of pendency of challenge in the leading court. The court asked the federal government to file its reply by July 3.
