The story of Kamlesh Kumar, a resident of Bihar’s Saharsa district, is in headlines. Kamlesh has secured 64th rank in Bihar Judiciary Exam held in 2022. His success includes years of hard work and sacrifice of his father. For livelihood, his father sometimes worked as a porter and sometimes pulled a rickshaw. He also sold chickpeas and bhature on the handcart. Once the policeman raised his hand on Kamlesh’s father. This incident proved to be the turning point for his life.

Kamlesh Kumar tells that his father comes from a very poor family. His father has ten siblings. He turned to Delhi for livelihood. Here he lived in a slum. But in the meantime, the government’s order came to remove the slums behind the Red Fort. All illegal temporary houses were demolished.

Kamlesh’s family faced a crisis of survival. Then he started living in a rented house across the Yamuna. For survival, Kamlesh’s father started selling handcarts at Chandni Chowk. By this time Kamlesh had passed 10th standard. One day when Kamlesh was at the handcart with his father, a policeman slapped his father and forced him to close the shop.

Narrating his ordeal on YouTube channel Josh Talk, Kamlesh said that the incident had a deep impact on him. He said that I got very angry at that time but I could not do anything. Then one day the father told me that these policemen are very much afraid of the judge. Only this thing sat in Kamlesh’s mind and he decided to take a step towards becoming a judge.

At this time Kamlesh was a law student at Delhi University. But remembering his father’s words, he was determined to become a judge instead of a lawyer. For this, he started preparing fiercely. He was an average student in studies. However, he had learned English well.

In 2017, Kamlesh gave the exam of UP Judiciary. After this he started preparing for Bihar Judiciary. But here also he failed in the first attempt. Then Corona came and almost 3 years were wasted. But Kamlesh did not give up. He kept preparing, kept studying. Finally he got selected in 2022. Kamlesh managed to secure 64th rank in the 31st Bihar Judiciary Examination.

In an interview given to ‘Josh Talk’, Kamlesh says that when he went to see the result, he did not see his name anywhere in the list. He sat down disappointed. But only then one of his friends informed him about his selection on the phone, on hearing which he started crying. At that time Kamlesh was alone at home. Mother had gone to the market, father was selling chickpeas at Chandni Chowk. There were tears of happiness in everyone’s eyes when they came to know.
