Indian Railways has decided to start “Shri Ramayana Yatra” by Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train to promote pilgrimage tourism. This journey will start from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on 7th April 2023 and will travel to major places associated with the life of Lord Shri Ram. The proposed train journey will be started with Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC tourist train with modern facilities. Please inform that till now 26 Bharat Gaurav trains have been started.

Where to visit?

This journey will be completed in 18 days. The first stop of this train will be Ayodhya. Where tourists will visit Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Hanuman Garhi and attend Saryu Aarti. The next stop will be the Bharat Mandir in Nandigram and then from Sitamarhi in Bihar, tourists will visit the birth place of Sita ji and the Ram Janaki temple in Janakpur (Nepal). Here they will reach by road.

After Sitamarhi, the train will leave for Buxar. Where the sightseeing will include Ramrekhaghat, Rameshwarnath Temple and then a dip in the holy Ganges. Next stop will be Varanasi. Where tourists will visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple and corridors, Tulsi Manas Temple and Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple. On completion of the journey, the passengers will be taken to Prayagraj, Shringverpur and Chitrakoot by road. Arrangements will be made for night rest in Varanasi, Prayagraj and Chitrakoot.

7500 kilometer journey

Apart from this, the next stop of the train will be Nashik, where Trimbakeshwar Temple and Panchavati will be visited. The next stop after Nashik would be Hampi, the ancient city of Kishkindha. Here Shri Hanuman Janmasthan Temple and other heritage and religious places will be included. Rameswaram will be the next destination of this train journey. Ramnath Swamy Temple and Dhanushkodi are a part of the tour.

The next stop of this yatra is Bhadrachalam, where the Sita Ram temple will be a part of the yatra. Nagpur is the last stop before the train returns. Ramtek Fort and Temple, where Lord Rama is believed to have stayed to rest during his exile, are must-visit places in Nagpur. The train will return back to Delhi on the 18th day of its journey. Yatris will travel about 7500 kms during the entire tour.

How much is the rent?

To promote domestic tourism, a special tourist train has been started on the lines of “Dekho Apna Desh” and “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiatives of the Government of India. In this, the per capita fare is Rs.1,14,065/- for 2AC and Rs.1,46,545/- for 1AC class cabin and Rs.1,68,950/- for 1AC coupe.

The package includes train travel in AC class, accommodation in AC hotels, all meals (vegetarian only), all transfers in AC vehicles and sightseeing, travel insurance and services of IRCTC tour manager etc. All necessary health precautions will be taken care of by providing safe and sound travel during the tour.
