The Indian Railways on Sunday said it prepared to restart passenger services in a phased way– at first with 15 pairs of trains– from Tuesday onwards, nearly 50 days after the services were stopped amidst COVID-19 lockdown.
The statement comes even as the Centre has extended the lockdown till Might 17 to consist of the spread of the infection.
To begin with, the 15 sets of trains, meaning an overall of 30 return journeys, would be run as unique trains from the New Delhi station connecting Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai C
