In view of the increasing incidents of road accidents amid dense fog in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, the traffic police launched a unique awareness campaign. On the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a ‘Pathshala’ of traffic rules was set up in the center of the city, where the school girls appealed to the people to follow the traffic rules through street drama. This program was organized at the main court square of the city.
Through street drama, the students explained to the common people that they should drive vehicles in dense fog only with fog lights on and avoid excessive speed. He said that when there is heavy fog, it is safer to wait for it to clear rather than driving. The people present there listened seriously to this initiative of the girl students.

Emotional appeal of daughters, emphasis on rules
During the play, the students made people aware through slogans. He said that maintain a safe distance from the vehicles moving ahead, do not drink and drive and always use seat belt and helmet. The daughters appealed in a touching manner to follow the traffic rules at all costs, so that no one dies.
During this, the girl students also administered an oath to the people to follow traffic rules. He gave the message that ignoring the rules can be a threat to one’s own life and that of others. In the drama, everyday carelessness was shown and its ill effects were also explained.
Police concerned over increasing accidents due to fog
These days, dense fog is wreaking havoc in the entire state and in Banda too, many people have lost their lives in road accidents. Banda Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal expressed concern about this and directed to organize such programs to make people aware.
On his instructions, the traffic police along with the school girls conducted this campaign so that the message reaches the general public in a direct and effective manner. Police believe that the lessons given through children have a greater impact on people.
ASP told safe driving methods
During the program ASP Shivraj addressed the girl students and common people. He said that it is very important for everyone to follow traffic rules for road safety. One should avoid unnecessary driving in cold and foggy weather or wait for the fog to clear.
He advised to keep a low speed while driving, maintain a safe distance from the vehicles moving ahead, not apply brakes suddenly and use indicators properly. ASP said that a little caution can save many lives and this is the main objective of this campaign.
