A gunfight appeared in Pampore’s Meej area and another encounter occurred in Shopian’s Bandpawa.

6 militants, including two holed up inside a mosque, were killed in two different operations in south Kashmir on Friday, taking the toll in the twin encounters to 8 in the past 36 hours.

” There was no use of shooting or improvised explosive gadgets in the Pampore encounter. Security forces utilized tear smoke shells only and kept sanctity of the mosque. Both the militants hiding inside the mosque were neutralised,” Inspector General of Authorities, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, stated.
