In Sultanpur village of Saharanpur, a person set himself on fire during a land measured campaign by the revenue department and police team on Saturday. There was chaos on the spot after the incident.
According to the report of the news agency, DM Manish Bansal said that this land measuring process was being done under the order of the Revenue Court. During this time, 60 -year -old Sardar Ved Prakash alias Vijendra Singh, who is accused of land encroachment, set himself on fire protesting it.

DM said that as soon as the team of Revenue Department was measuring the land, at the same time Vedprakash set fire to himself by putting flammable substances. Police and administrative officials present on the spot immediately extinguished the fire and took them to Pilkhani Medical College, Saharanpur, where their condition remains critical.
The District Magistrate clarified that this land measuring process was being done under Section 24 of the Revenue Court. No force was used by the administration. The investigation of the case has been started after the incident.
However, there is an atmosphere of tension in the village after the incident. Villagers say that the administration should have established proper dialogue before measuring land so that such an unfortunate incident does not happen. At present, the police and administration are investigating the entire case and the treatment of Vedprakash is going on.
