The police was busy investigating the case. Meanwhile, on the third day of the disappearance, a WhatsApp call received on the phone of the woman’s (Preeti) husband created a sensation. A ransom of Rs 1 lakh was demanded by sending a QR code to the missing woman’s husband.
Her husband was shocked to hear about his wife’s kidnapping. When he informed the police about this on August 4, the police swung into action and started investigating the person who had demanded the ransom. Meanwhile, the police recovered 29-year-old woman Preeti, 10-year-old Deep Shikha and 9-year-old Divyanshu from Gorakhpur through the location.

However, during this time, the police did not get any clue about the person who demanded ransom from the woman’s husband. Now the police have termed this entire incident as a mutual dispute between the husband and wife.
