Previous Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez will function as Pakistan’s head coach for the upcoming Australia and New Zealand trip. Hafeez was selected as the Pakistan group director. Previously, Mickey Arthur held the post till a reshuffle occurred followed by Babar Azam’s resignation as the captain.

According to ESPNcricinfo site, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will now combine the post of group director and head coach. Currently, Hafeez will play a double function in their upcoming 3 Test matches in Australia and 5 T20Is in New Zealand which will occur in December and January respectively.

Hafeez was just recently part of the PCB Cricket Technical Committee. The previous all-rounder became part of the Pakistan males’s group which won the ICC Champions Trophy in England in 2017.
