ODI World Cup winner and former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who finished his international cricket career in 2013 is now ready to start the second innings of his life. The ‘Master Blaster’ has been roped in by the Election Commission of India as their national icon to raise voter awareness and education. The former India cricketer who played 200 Test matches for team India has amassed a total of 100 international tons across two different formats of the game. During his legendary career, the right-handed batsman has made various records that are certainly not easy to break

The Election Commission of India keeping the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in mind is leaving no stone unturned to attract new voters and also wants the average voting percentage to go up. Keeping this in mind, they have roped in Sachin Tendulkar who is a household name across the Indian subcontinent and has a huge impact on common people’s lives. While speaking at the event that was organized in the national capital, Sachin said that he was extremely happy when his children Sarah and Arjun cast their votes for the first time. Sachin also highlighted a massive issue with India and asked people to give it a thought.

The Master Blaster said:

We are the largest democracy in the world, and it is our prime responsibility to exercise our voting rights with due diligence… It is a responsibility that should not be ignored. Everyone should be aware of when the elections are happening and when is the window to go out and vote
