China’s Shenzhou 14 astronauts set to go back to Earth on Sunday

Three astronauts who invested 6 months in area building China’s brand-new spaceport station are all set to return house.

Chen Dong, Liu Yang and Cai Xuzhe are set up to leave the Tiangong spaceport station and reenter Earth’s environment in their Shenzhou 14 spacecraft on Sunday (Dec. 4), according(opens in brand-new tab) to airspace closure notifications.

The team are set to land in their reentry pill in the Gobi Desert near the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at around 7: 10 a.m. EST (1210 GMT; 8: 10 p.m. Beijing time). A backup window for landing is open 90 minutes, or one orbit of Earth, later on.

Ground teams finished rescue and healing drills on Thursday (Dec. 1) in preparation for the landing, Chinese state media reported(opens in brand-new tab)

The Shenzhou 14 trio released for the Tianhe spaceport station core module from Jiuquan on June 5 (GMT) and supervise the arrival of 2 brand-new modules in orbit, assisting to total the T-shaped Tiangong.

They welcomed the inbound Shenzhou 15 team on Nov. 29, marking the very first time China ever had 6 astronauts in area at the very same time.
