The future of the schemes keeping food on the table of millions of Australians has been announced, with JobSeeker to continue to completion of the year, and JobKeeper to extend beyond that.
There are a lot of facts, figures, numbers and essential dates around when you’ll be affected.
Here are the most essential ones:
JobKeeper and JobSeeker modification on September 28
Till Tuesday, the JobKeeper aid and the coronavirus supplement, which successfully doubled the JobSeeker payment, were due to end in late September.
Rather, that’s now the time both schemes will change.
From September 28, JobKeeper payments will alter from a flat $1,500 a fortnight to $1,200 a fortnight for full-time employees, and $750 a fortnight for part-time workers
A comparable reduction will be levelled on the coronavirus supplement, which enhances payments to individuals on JobSeeker, Youth Allowance, Austudy and some other support payments.
While JobSeeker recipients were formerly receiving simply over $1,100 each fortnight, the change will see the base amount cut to about $815 a fortnight.
If you or your service are on JobKeeper, another date to bear in mind is January 4, when an additional reduction will be made to the payment.
