2 Hizbul terrorists eliminated in Anantnag encounter

SRINAGAR: Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were eliminated in an anti-terror operation in Poshkreeri town of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. A possible attack was avoided with the healing and damage of an IED weighing around 30-35 kg in Srinagar’s Khonmoh location.
The killed terrorists were recognized as Danish Ahmad Bhat alias Kokab Duree from Jablipora Bijbehara, and Basharat Nabi Lone of Fatehpora Anantnag. According to cops records, both were categorised terrorists active because 2019, with a history of horror criminal offenses versus security forces along with civilian atrocities. The Hizbul duo was associated with eliminating 2 Territorial Army workers in different attacks in 2019 and 2021 in Anantnag. They likewise killed 2 civilians in Bijbehara in 2021, ADGP (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar stated.
Acting on intelligence inputs about the existence of terrorists in Poshkreeri, a joint group of the Army’s 3RR and J&K Police released a cordon-and-search operation there.
