The Department of Health and Social Solutions reports Friday that 14 Alaskans and 12 nonresidents in the state have actually evaluated favorable for the virus that causes COVID-19

Of the detected Alaskans, 6 are in the Municipality of Anchorage, one in the Bethel Census Area, one in Big Lake, one in Fairbanks, one in Haines, one in Homer, one in North Pole, one in the North Slope Borough and one in Palmer.

During a press conference Friday, Anchorage Health Department Director Natasha Pineda said that some of the Anchorage cases are related to a large event that occurred in Girdwood.
