Ambulance personnel at Lanark County Paramedic Service’s Almonte base will be working without a home for an undetermined time following a fire at the paramedic base early Friday.
Ambulance teams identified smoke at the base at about 7 a.m., the Mississippi River Health Alliance stated in a release.
“The shift team had the ability to leave the structure and get rid of cars and the fire was included rapidly,” the release stated.
There were no injuries. The reason for the fire is being examined.
For the time being, some team members will be housed and released out of the Carleton Place ambulance base.
Other ambulances will stay mobile in the Almonte location, the authority stated.
There was no sign the length of time the repair work will take.
