We have actually understood that Android 11 plans to incorporate clever house controls into the long-press power menu, structure on the wallet functionality it already added, and we’ve even seen mockups for what it will appear like Today we’ve received a report of the modification live and in the wild on a Pixel running Android 11 DP4, and it turns out, anybody on Android 11 can enable it by sideloading the latest Google Home app release.

We’ve had the possibility to have fun with the new interface for ourselves, and it works quite well. The name of the house appears leading center next to a Google House icon, with a three-dot overflow menu to the right and the Quick Control tiles themselves listed below. Our tipster states everything is “working perfectly” when it comes to the brand-new combinations, and it provides for me as well.

To allow this for yourself, you’ll need a Pixel running Android 11 together with the most recent version of the Google House app, v 2.231.8. We’ve checked it on Android 11 DP4,
