Such cases increased in Canada
Even before this, three such incidents have happened in Brampton in July last year. According to official statistics from the Government of Canada, between 2019 and 2021, hate crimes related to religion, sexual orientation and race have increased by 72 percent in Canada. This has increased fear among minority communities, especially the Indian community.
