Apple tried to covertly patch up a battery issue on iPhones released in between 2014 and 2016 by slowing them down– a relocation that was quickly found and that cause a class-action claim.
That case was settled earlier this year and Apple agreed to pay affected users $25, the overall cost of the settlement can total up to approximately $500 million (depending upon the number of claims were submitted, the minimum payment is $310 million).
